Meta Quest 3. All That Was Announced!
The latest headset from Meta Connect, the Quest 3, has been praised by Zuckerberg for its powerful features. It seamlessly blends the physical and digital worlds, allowing users to navigate using only their hands due to improved hand-tracking precision. The newly designed controllers provide additional accuracy for various activities, including gaming and work. The Quest 3 is wireless and standalone, eliminating the need for cumbersome wires or battery packs. Upon wearing the Quest 3, users will witness their physical space transformed into a canvas for digital objects. During a body combat workout, targets will appear in the user's actual physical space, whether in their living room or home gym. This permits complete freedom of movement without any concerns. Quest 3's superior physical space rendering is made possible by 10 times more pixels than the Quest 2 and dedicated colour and depth sensors that automatically map the user's space. As a result, digital objects behave like real ones, bouncing off the wall if thrown or providing cover from enemy fire behind the user's actual couch.
Users can also place a big virtual screen anywhere they want in their physical room. This unlocks many fun experiences for hanging out and watching content together. An exciting new feature is that Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Quest in December. Hundreds of Xbox games, including titles like Halo, Minecraft and Elder Scrolls, will be playable on a massive screen anywhere. Assassin’s Creed Nexus is finally here! Plus major developers are bringing great titles from our open app lab, like Roblox which launched today. Quest 3's mixed reality technology enables users to seamlessly transition between the virtual and physical worlds. If a user becomes fully immersed in a virtual experience, they can easily return to their surroundings by double-tapping the headset. This innovative feature enhances both the virtual and real worlds.
The Quest family has a new member, Quest 3, which boasts the advanced Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, providing double the graphics performance of any previous Quest device. The pancake lenses and displays have been improved, resulting in stunning visuals. Moreover, by the end of the year, users will be able to access Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Quest, making it easier to get work done. Quest 3 is the most powerful headset yet, with next-gen processors, better displays and optics, and a 40% slimmer and more comfortable design. It also features precision controllers or excellent hand tracking, ensuring an incredible experience. You can order Quest 3 today for just $499, and it will be shipped on August 10th.
